SENSE THE MUSIC
Harpist Urška Križnik Zupan embarked on her musical journey with the piano, later being drawn to the enchanting sounds of the harp. Under the mentorship of Prof. Dalibor Bernatovič and Prof. Rudi Ravnik Kosi, she earned her degree in 2003 from the Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana. Participating in various masterclasses for solo and chamber music under renowned professors, she showcased her talent as a soloist and in diverse chamber ensembles during her academic years. A recipient of the Soroptimist Club scholarship, she has been honored with multiple awards at national competitions.
Engaging in pedagogical endeavors for several years, Urška has made significant contributions to the field of music education. As a soloist and a member of chamber groups, she has graced the stages of prestigious festivals, including Festival Ljubljana, Piran Musical Evenings, Slowind Festival, Vransko Summer Evenings, and Chamber Studio RTV.
An advocate for Slovenian harp music, she has premiered numerous Slovenian compositions, adding a unique dimension to her artistic expression. Urška is also recognized for her archival recordings on Radio Slovenia. Since 2003, she has held the position of principal harpist in the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra.
In her role as a solo harpist, Urška Križnik Zupan continues to captivate audiences with her artistry, contributing to the rich tapestry of Slovenian and international music.

Christmas Concert
On the 24th of November 2023 at 8 PM, Unionska Dvorana in Ljubljana will host Urška as the harpist alongside the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Lusiana Delakova.
This special evening marks the debut of Joseph Tralukov’s harp concerto composed exclusively for Urška, promising an extraordinary performance in the esteemed concert hall.
